If you've walked by the office in the high school over the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed a table with boxes to collect change and photos of some of our finest administration, support staff, and educators on display. Mr. Alvarez, Mr. Grow, Mr. Stone, and Officer Meyers each had a box to collect money to put towards a charity of their choice. The individual that obtained the most money, earned a chance to smooch a pig at an all school assembly held on Friday, December 13th. With the help from the Ag classes, Mr. Grow won by a landslide. Just under $200 was raised and donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County. The adorable swine was raised by Ag teacher, Mr. Stiens. After students gathered to witness the winner collect his prize, Mr. Grow shared a few words about the experience, " I do think the pig liked the kiss as she winked at me and it did make Mrs. Grow a little jealous. [We] are always happy to help out a local charity."
