Schneiders

A bond issue was passed in 2014 for the construction of a 19,000 square foot Performing Arts Center to be added on to Maryville High School. The center was funded by the $10.25 million bond and a $558,000 donation from Lee and Nina Schneider. The center includes nearly 700 seats, a full stage space, fly rails, full lighting with catwalk access, sound and audio system with presentation and projection capabilities, full concert shell, scene shop, dressing rooms, bathroom, costume closet, prop storage, electronic storage, lobby with guest bathrooms, ticket booth, and a new main entrance into the school.

The Performing Arts Center was the vision of former Maryville R-II employees Lee and Nina Schneider. Lee and Nina decided early on in their careers to set aside money in a fund for a future performing arts center and added to it each year. For over 40 years, they served the Maryville community through music education and setting aside funds for this facility.

With the help of the Schneiders' donation and the passed bond, the facility officially opened in October of 2016.
